Purpose:

  • The successful candidate will conduct various aspects of quality control and inspection activities associated with the oversight and management of both field and shop level industrial coating activities on fuel storage tanks, steel piping, mechanic systems, and other steel structures. 

Duties:

  • Serve as the Site Quality Control Manager in accordance with the Project Quality Control Plan primarily for coating activities
  • Serve (when needed) in on-site role when needed as Site Construction / Health and Safety Manager primarily but not limited to coating of fuel system assets
  • Off-site support of coatings work plan development in concert with manufacturers specifications and prevailing standards
  • On-site NACE superintendence, super surveillance and hold point inspections of subcontracted coating activities
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office Suite and other similar applications to plan, document and report coating work and NACE inspections in accordance with the project and industry standards
  • Maintains effective communications with on-site clients, subcontractors and Project Manager
  • Ensures Subcontractor adherence to all typical and specified requirements associated with field and shop coating actions
  • Implements plans and monitors work activities to ensure project execution supports compliance internal and external timelines and objectives
  • Conducts on-site meetings with the client and subcontractors as required; Liaises with government Quality Assurance inspectors as required
  • Prepares project Quality Control documents and reports in accordance with establish plans; and perform various other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)
  • Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds)
  • Frequent bending, twisting and standing
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required

Experience/Education:

  • Five years of experience of above ground plotless painting systems
  • Two years of direct field experience inspecting coating and painting inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret construction project drawings and specifications. 
  • Five years of experience executing above ground and below ground coatings systems

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills​
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have valid driver's licenses

Licenses or Certifications:

  • NACE Coating Inspector - Level 1 (CIP 1) Certification 
  • OSHA 10

  • Travel is required
