Our growing company is in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller/Full Charge Bookkeeper Professional to assist the Chief Financial Officer in directing the organization's accounting functions, as well as performing our day-to-day accounting, banking, and finance duties. This position is based in Rancho Cordova and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence
  • Project management and execution (using Procore)
  • Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Manage AR/AP/Payroll/ Certified Payroll
  • Job-Costing experience preferred but not required
  • 2+ years related experience Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager
  • 3+ years Management experience
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

The Accounting Manager/HR will contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reports and budgeting systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Transactions:

  • Ensure that accounts payable is paid according to prioritized payment systems set forth by the CFO
  • Ensure that accounts receivable is collected promptly
  • Ensure that payroll is processed in a timely manner (weekly payroll)
  • Be familiar with Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage
  • Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Maintain and record G/L activity
  • Assist CFO in the preparation of Year-End Tax documents/reports for CPA
  • Reporting:
  • Assist CFO in the monitoring of the financial performance of the company and provide analyses
  • Compile financial reporting packages, including month-end
  • Assist CFO in the preparation and maintenance of operating budgets, including reporting actual results against forecasts
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Ability to work independently and with a team with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize projects efficiently

Compliance: Management:

  • On occasion, coordinate the provision of information to external auditors (i.e. workman's comp and general liability)
  • Report directly to CFO
  • Assist CFO in providing leadership, support, coaching, counseling, holding accountable, and disciplining department employees, as well as planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintain applicable SOP manuals
  • Assist in the development and management of financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
  • Salary structure depending on experience.
