Electrician Needed – Textile Manufacturing

We are seeking an Electrician to join our team in Stuart. 

SUMMARY:  To modify, rebuild, repair, or overhaul electronic and electrical equipment and controls. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principals, wiring specifications, local and national electrical codes where applicable, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
• Plans details of working procedures to determine material or replacement needs and determines a logical approach to repair problems.
• Coordinates with electricians on special projects and provides guidance and training
• Performs plant wide electronic, electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Makes sketches of parts and layouts. Designs and constructs adaptations of component parts or standard parts as required.
• Maintains and installs communication cables, power distribution cables and wiring
• Fabricate components as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
• Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective action taken as needed.
• Follows applicable regulatory requirements and other applicable safe working practices
• Maintains performance and maintenance records for electronic and electrical equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment when production is not scheduled.
• Installs, moves and repairs machinery/equipment as required.
• May employ the use of an electric arc welder or oxyacetylene burner
• Works in Confined Spaces, elevated platforms, etc.
• Any other duties assigned by manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Should have 20/20 vision or 20/20 corrected vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Personal Protective Equipment required in job: Electrical Safety Shoes, and when required-Safety glasses, respirators, electrical gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection.
