Job Summary

  • Operates power driven machines and equipment performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives written or oral instructions from supervisor regarding material to move or excavate.
  • Pushes levers and depresses pedals to move and operate machine to meet the goals of construction activity.
  • Observes markings on ground, hand signals, or grade stakes to remove and place material, when operating machine.
  • Inspects, cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
  • Participate and complete training in operation of new equipment.
  • Read project plans and operate equipment accordingly.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Qualifications

• Proficient with construction blade operations

• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions exposed to work near moving mechanical parts

• Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen

 

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively co-works, crews, subcontractors, and supervisors.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
