POSITION TITLE:: Safety Coordinator
LOCATION:: Office and Field
FLSA STATUS:: Salary Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:: The Safety Coordinator, having experience with a commercial and/or industrial construction company, will assist the HSE Program Manager and interact with the field project management teams and sub-contractors supporting the overall safety program, including training, implementation and monitoring safety policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO::
- Assist and report to the HSE Program Manager.
- Promote, support and maintain an excellent safety culture.
- Have understanding of, and stay current with, OSHA, MSHA, DOT regulations.
- Coordinate drug and alcohol testing.
- Coordinate Site Safety Orientation for New Hires and Annual Refreshers.
- Monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Implement and disseminate the company mission and values.
- Effectively communicate with the company staff.
- Manage time effectively.
- Ensure that safety related training records, accident reports and other documents are completed and stored properly.
- Assist HSE Program Manager in completing necessary reports on accidents, incidents and near misses including investigation report, witness statements, and corrective action plan.
- May accompany injured employees to hospital or clinic.
- Regularly continue education and training in work related skills.
COMMENTS::
- Ability to personally access all areas of a project site in all weather conditions.
- Efficiently use Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Experience with Primavera P6 and CMiC software (a plus).
- Diligent with an analytical mind.
- Must be willing to travel and perhaps relocate depending on project requirements.
- Business Administration Degree (a plus).
- OSHA Outreach Trainer (a plus).
- Minimum of three years of proven experience as a safety coordinator in the construction industry or similar.
- Paid weekly.
